A Wire Join That Holds as Well as the Wire Itself
In electrical installations, a mid-run wire splice is only as reliable as the connector used to make it. An exposed join corrodes. A poorly crimped butt connector introduces resistance and pulls free under vibration or mechanical stress. A connector with partial insulation leaves the joint vulnerable to accidental contact and short-circuit risk in confined wiring environments. Paprsky Long Full Insulating Middle Joints eliminate all three failure modes, providing a fully insulated, crimp-secure nylon butt connector that joins two conductors end to end with the mechanical integrity and electrical protection that professional wiring work demands.
What Is a Long Full Insulating Middle Joint?
A long full insulating middle joint, commonly referred to as a nylon butt connector, is a crimp-type splice connector designed to join two conductors end to end within a single insulated barrel. One conductor is inserted from each end of the connector and crimped in place, creating a solid mechanical and electrical joint at the centre of the barrel. The full-length nylon insulating body covers the entire joint from conductor entry point to conductor entry point, eliminating any exposed metal along the splice and providing complete electrical isolation and physical protection for the joined conductors. The nylon construction provides superior resistance to heat, abrasion, and chemical exposure compared to standard PVC insulated butt connectors, making these joints suitable for demanding industrial, automotive, and electrical installation environments.
Product Information
Paprsky Long Full Insulating Middle Joints are available in three variants covering conductor sizes from 0.5mm² through to 6mm² across AWG 22 to AWG 10. The PS-BNY-1.25 in Red covers 0.5mm² to 1.5mm² conductors at 19A maximum current. The PS-BNY-2 in Blue covers 1.5mm² to 2.5mm² conductors at 27A maximum current. The PS-BNY-5.5 in Yellow covers 4mm² to 6mm² conductors at 48A maximum current. All three variants share a consistent 27.3mm barrel length and are rated to 105 degrees Celsius with an insulation voltage of 600V, making them suitable for both low-voltage control wiring and higher-voltage power conductor splicing applications. Colour coding in Red, Blue, and Yellow follows international standard conductor size identification for organised and compliant wiring installations.
Key Features
- Full-length nylon insulating body provides complete electrical isolation across the entire splice joint with no exposed metal
- Rated to 105 degrees Celsius and 600V insulation voltage for reliable performance across control and power wiring applications
- Three size variants covering 0.5mm² to 6mm² in Red, Blue, and Yellow for standard colour-coded conductor identification
- Nylon construction provides superior heat, abrasion, and chemical resistance compared to standard PVC insulated connectors
- Current ratings from 19A to 48A across the size range covering light signal wiring through to medium-capacity power conductors
- Crimp-secure barrel design ensures firm mechanical retention and consistent electrical contact at both conductor entry points
- 27.3mm barrel length provides sufficient conductor engagement depth for a secure and reliable splice on both sides of the joint
Industrial and Professional Applications
- Electrical control panels and switchboards for splicing control and signal conductors within panel wiring runs where full insulation coverage is required
- Automotive and vehicle wiring for joining conductors in engine bays, chassis harnesses, and interior wiring where heat and vibration resistance are essential
- Industrial machinery and equipment wiring for mid-run conductor splices on machine harnesses and control cables in demanding operating environments
- Solar PV and renewable energy installations for splicing DC and AC conductors in array wiring, combiner boxes, and inverter connection runs
- Building services and facility maintenance for extending or repairing wire runs in distribution boards, lighting circuits, and low-voltage systems
The Splice That Holds the Standard at Every Join
Every wire splice in an installation is a point where the quality of the connector either matches or falls short of the quality of the wire around it. Paprsky Long Full Insulating Middle Joints provide full nylon insulation, 600V rating, 105-degree temperature resistance, and crimp-secure barrel design in three colour-coded variants that cover the conductor range from light control wiring through to medium-capacity power conductors. When the splice needs to perform as well as the wire it joins, this is the connector that delivers it.
