Usage Instructions

  1. Zeroing: Place the base on a known flat reference surface and ensure the pointer aligns accurately with the zero mark.
  2. Fillet Leg Length: Rest the flat base against the plate member and slide the pointer tip until it contacts the weld toe.
  3. Weld Reinforcement: Position the base spanning across the weld joint and lower the pointer tip directly onto the weld crown.
  4. Undercut Depth: Carefully insert the fine pointer tip into the groove at the edge of the weld toe to read defect depth.
  5. Preparation Bevel Angle: Align the gauge’s sloped edge directly against the beveled plate edge to check joint angle.
